Escape to Mount Dandenong

July 4th, 2008 by blurblur

1 and a half week ago I went up to Mt. Dandenong with Rachel. She was so nice to organize a trip for me after my hectic exams and to celebrate my completion of the degree. Thanks babe!!

So on this Sunday a week ago, we took a tram to Thrifty to collect our rental car. They hand us a Toyota Accent! even bigger than the originally booked Mitsubishi Lancer. Cool!

Off we go, again with the aid of my marvelous integrated GPS in my Dopod D810, we able to reach on top of Mt. Dandenong in 40 minutes only. Hassle free without even flipping the pages of Melbourne’s map directories.

Our first visit of the day is Miss Marple’s Cottage!! The English cottage is easily spotted by the road. We parked and off we went inside.

Eureka Tower Level 88

June 24th, 2008 by blurblur

Eureka Tower, the world’s tallest residential building.

It took us 40seconds from bottom to top. Up on the deck of level 88, there are these “telescopes” which will make you dizzy and clueless of what you’re actually looking at. Without the caption, I seriously do not know that I’m actually looking at the hockey stadium. Maybe it’ll be clearer in the day. Seriously, why the heck they make it so ugly??

Melbourne Scenery

April 14th, 2008 by blurblur

Once my friend actually told me Melbourne city is a very romantic place to spend time with your partner, I personally feel that too, no doubt it’s true.

I went to the city today to grab a bite with my new found friend. It’s amazing that we share alot in common, and it’s getting freaky too.

Anyway I took some pictures during the time in the city, and I found my favourite scene too! It was my homepage banner before this.

Here are the pics I snapped at Yarra river today:

Abit shaky without a tripod, the long shutter feature on my camera really gives me a breathtaking photo.

Windstorm in Melbourne

April 11th, 2008 by blurblur

FInally I can post this up, I know it’s already a week later but late is better than never. Last Friday, on the 2nd April 2008 a windstorm brought fellow South Australian nothing but terror.

Wind reaching 140km/h throwing everything possible to lift at people in the open. Wind strong enough to instantaneously halt everyone walking, making us covering every possible holes to prevent debris and sand from intruding our body.

Stuff falling of the roof of buildings, commuters couldn’t operate smoothly, even power went out causing thousands of homes without lights.

A couple unlucky souls went with the wind that day. Lucky for me to arrive home safely to snap this sandy sky.

Sandy Windstorm tainted the sky, view from my house
The sky is tainted with dusty sand.
