Escape to Mount Dandenong

July 4th, 2008 by blurblur

1 and a half week ago I went up to Mt. Dandenong with Rachel. She was so nice to organize a trip for me after my hectic exams and to celebrate my completion of the degree. Thanks babe!!

So on this Sunday a week ago, we took a tram to Thrifty to collect our rental car. They hand us a Toyota Accent! even bigger than the originally booked Mitsubishi Lancer. Cool!

Off we go, again with the aid of my marvelous integrated GPS in my Dopod D810, we able to reach on top of Mt. Dandenong in 40 minutes only. Hassle free without even flipping the pages of Melbourne’s map directories.

Our first visit of the day is Miss Marple’s Cottage!! The English cottage is easily spotted by the road. We parked and off we went inside.

Homemade T-bone steak

April 23rd, 2008 by blurblur

Cooking a steak is not as hard as most of you think. With a little practice anybody can cook! The Ratatouille style!

First, choose your steak, there are a variety of choices but the popular ones are ribeye, potterhouse, fillet steak, T-bone and rum.

My favourite part is the fillet steak or some call it fillet mignon. It’s the most tender part of the beef but comes in the pricy tag.

I bought a couple of T-bone steak from the butcher today, the beef is not so evenly cut though, can’t expect much from a cheap butcher. Note that uneven steak will cause undesired results.

Homemade Lambchop

April 21st, 2008 by blurblur

Been peeling, marinating, chopping, washing, wrapping, cleaning, grilling, frying, drinking in the kitchen of my restaurant for almost a year now. I do learn quite abit of kitchen skills from it. Not to say good, but at least adequate hehe..

Last friday I suddenly decided to cook myself a lambchop after picking up a AUD$2.20 piece of loins from the groceries. Marinated it overnight and tada.. here it is..

My homemade lambchop with my favourite xiu buk choy and sauce aside.

Taste good! My compliments to the chef! hahahaha… But grilling lambchop for one is totally not feasible. -.-

Gelati~

January 13th, 2008 by blurblur

It was yesterday, when my friends & I went for Gelati after having a great meal at Ying Thai. To be exact there were Lee Xin, Rayner, Nancy & I. We celebrated Lee Xin belated birthday.

Well we had gelati for desert! It’s a well-known ice cream shop in Melbourne. This is not my first time tasting it but I’ve never blog about it perviously.

We went to the one on Lygon street. There have plenty of flavours to choose from. Rayner had durian flavour and I have a try of it, and it taste great! A must try!!

The lady doesn’t seems happy with me taking the picture… hmm, maybe she’s having a bad day? Eat some ice cream & cheer up!!

Look at those small mountains of ice creams!!

I myself got the Roche and Rum & raisin flavous. The Roche really makes me felt thirsty because its so full of Ferrero Roche chocolate in it.
