IT Auditing or Programming?

Somebody help me with this tough decision!! Which field should I go for?? Should I sit in front of the computer and keep typing codes that doesn’t make sense to most of ya’ll? or go running around auditing systems which may explode into a mushroom cloud??

I have interest in both of it and to me they seems to have equally bright future. Please share your thoughts!!

Regardless of how exciting a job may sound like, you’ll never know for sure if you like it or not until after you’ve started. Which might then be a bit too late.

Take everything people tell you with a pinch of salt. Preferably a lot of salt.

Realistic as it may need to sound to have an assurance of a bright future, that’s possibly what would matter the least when you get to it. When you only think about future assurance, you might end up getting bored with your job but keep psycho-ing yourself it will be good in the end. I believe if you enjoyed your work, you will pave your own way to that future you want. And you would be happy, that’s very important.

Besides that, I agree with Tze Lun that you’ll never know until you try. That’s why graduates always jump jobs at the start. I’d say keep it open for now and apply for both. Start on the more interesting or attractive package and see if you enjoy it. Good luck! =)
