When BAD comes to WORSE
I was fixing computers like eating meals. Yea, alot will just say “Reformat lah, then reinstall Windows”. Well it’s alot easier if an actual window in my room is broken.
It’s easy to install Windows. It’s so easy that almost anyone who understand English can do it, thanks to Bill Gates. But it’s not so easy to recover your data from it, while you can’t even log onto Windows. That’s bad enough and when it gets worse, you find yourself dealing with BAD SECTORS.
Bad sectors is everyone’s nightmare. It’s is so hard to recover your data from it, impossible at times. While working my hard ass recovering it, this is what I enjoy my laptop with:
A 40″ Sony plasma LCD TV!! Wahaha.. this is my new working environment, my processing power with a large plasma. Big lerhh! =P
By the way, it belongs to Kelvin, haha. Thanks to him though, if not I can’t work with my laptop without an external display.
After 12 hours…..
Judging from the speed it’s running, I approximate it’s gonna take another more than 48 hours to repair. Verdict? I strongly discourage the usage of Seagate hard drives.

Brands are rarely the factor of failure. Most of the time it’s plain luck.

yea most of the time is luck.. There is once I read a forum about users of WD vs Seagate, even it’s quite fair that both sides had voted, only users from Seagate complaint about defects. None of WD users ever complain. Majority still favors WD hard drives.
Just to be on the safe side, run away from the sea

Hey bro, WD is not my favor ever since i was in this line. WD causes power consumption problem where if u try to use it externally using third party casing. It will kill the power adapter and sometimes it kill itself.
Bad sector ar, using hdd regenerator does help a lot but with this kind of amount of bad sector, i bet u will need to do a rescan and repair after the first round of repair. Thats the real nightmare, after repair still in bad status.

guess what in the end? it ended with a successful regeneration of more than 20,000 bad sectors! hehehe
